Introduction of Korea Robotic Endoscopy Minimal Invasive Breast Surgery Research Society

Our research society is dedicated to advancing medical science through education, research, and communication among members regarding robotic, endoscopic, and minimally invasive surgery. Breast endoscopic surgery was introduced in Korea in the early 2000s and opened a new horizon, and the first breast robot surgery in Korea began in 2016. As a result, the demand for minimally invasive surgery has been rapidly increasing.

In response to these trends, our research group provides members with various educational programs for standardization of skills and high-quality education. In particular, we regularly host hands-on workshops for domestic surgeons.

At IERBS 2024, held in conjunction with GBCC, one of the largest international conferences in Korea, 39 surgeons from 14 countries participated to conclude a successful international skills workshop. Moreover, this workshop has achieved the success of establishing itself as an official pre-conference event for the GBCC in 2025. Through this, we were able to widely promote Korea’s advanced robotic surgery techniques to the world. This research group, which makes these efforts, is doing its best to develop and settle minimally invasive surgery. This is our valuable effort to contribute to the treatment and quality of life improvement of women with breast cancer and high-risk factors.

Since the foundation of the research group in 2019, our KoREa-BSG has conducted or is in the process of conducting more than 10 studies. In particular, the research results of this research group have been published in the High Impact Journal in the field of surgery, and we are continuously promoting the highest level of prospective research. Through this, we will enhance the international status of domestic medical research and play a leading role.

Currently, our research society includes various members from university hospitals, general hospitals, and private clinics with a shared interest in minimally invasive surgery. Exchanges through research groups are doing their best to promote the importance of collaboration for constructive medical development beyond just promoting friendship.

We hope to receive your continued support and encouragement for our research group. We wish for the success of this research group, which will stand tall in the world beyond Korea
